About AV Horizon
AV Horizon surveys, permits, installs, and services commercial signage across the DMV. One accountable crew takes your project from site survey to lit sign, and keeps it lit after the ribbon cut. Fabrication is coordinated through trusted UL-certified partner shops under our QC, so the chain stays tight without the hand-offs.
What we do
AV Horizon installs, permits, and services commercial signage for national fabricators, brand programs, GCs, and direct clients across the DMV. The core of our work is interior: branded environments, retail graphics, vinyl, wayfinding, and ADA packages. Exterior work, including channel letters, illuminated signs, ground-set monuments, and low-profile pylons, is performed at first and second story elevations.
We own the field. Surveys your shop can build from. Permits pulled directly in DMV jurisdictions. Certified installers delivering clean, documented work on every site. A service line that answers when a cabinet goes dark. That's the whole promise: the parts of the job that happen at the building, handled by one team that picks up the phone.
Signage goes wrong when the install doesn't match the design intent. We're the field execution layer that makes sure it does.
Who we work with
We install on behalf of national sign manufacturers, graphics fabricators, and out-of-market firms that need a reliable DMV-area crew with full permitting authority and proper insurance. We're the local install arm — single point of contact, one COI, in-house permit pulls. Most of our recent work falls in this category.
We coordinate with the GC, work from base-building drawings, and deliver signage packages by the certificate-of-occupancy date. Suite IDs, lobby walls, ADA wayfinding, and code-required signage installed inside occupied or in-construction spaces.
Property managers, multi-tenant landlords, and end-customer brands needing one-off installs, refreshes, or service contracts across the DMV.
Multi-site service contracts, scheduled maintenance, and emergency repair for retail operators and brand programs with sites across the region.
How we work
Every project moves through the same five gates — survey, design-and-permit, fabrication coordination, install, and warranty handoff. It's how national programs stay consistent across markets, and how one-off flagship jobs don't turn into six rounds of revisions.
We don't substitute materials mid-project. We don't push install dates to fit our schedule. Every COI, every permit pull, every site condition is documented so the buyer — retailer, GC, facilities team — knows exactly what they're getting and when.
Service area
Our crews work daily within about fifteen miles of Annandale: Falls Church, Tysons, Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, and Leesburg in Virginia, Georgetown and the District, and the close-in Maryland suburbs, with occasional projects elsewhere in Virginia. Same-day site surveys and fast-turn permitting are the baseline.
For national brand programs, multi-site rollout coordination is available through our vetted install-partner network: single point of contact, consistent standards, one COI package, one invoice per program. Ask us about your program.
Owner
Abraham Valencia founded AV Horizon after working as a project manager and field supervisor in national signage installation. He's bilingual in English and Spanish. AV Horizon is built around the operational discipline he developed running install programs for tier-one fabricators — precise documentation, fast quote turnaround, and an install that survives the warranty period.

Licensure & compliance
Commercial clients, GCs, and fabricator partners ask the same compliance questions before they onboard a vendor. Here are the answers — up front.
Virginia Class B Contractor License. Current and in good standing. License number available on request with W-9.
$2M General Liability. Workers' Compensation across all crews. $2M Umbrella. Owned commercial auto. Additional insured endorsement available by project. Full COI package sent within same business day.
Certified boom-lift and scissor-lift (MEWP) operation. Lifts are used for speed and stability on first and second story work: storefront channel letters, ground-set monument signs, and channel letter electrical tie-in. Most installer competitors aren't certified. We are.
Lead installers hold OSHA-30 construction safety certification. Crew members carry OSHA-10 minimum. Documented safety program, toolbox talks, and site-specific JHAs.
Direct in Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, Montgomery County, and D.C. In-house expediting — no third-party permit runners. Historic preservation and variance experience.
English / Spanish on every job. Important for occupied retail coordination, tenant communication, and crew safety across the DMV.
Team carries 3M preferred applicator experience for cast vinyl, window graphics, and full-cover storefront wraps.
W-9, COI, OSHA documentation, references, and Class B license number ready same business day. Pre-cleared for facilities-team onboarding processes.
